Silly Silly

While I was making lunch today, Halie asked me if my shirts would be old when I was old. Sometimes I wonder where kids get their questions, because they sure have a lot of them!

"Why Halie? Do you want them?" I said.

"Yes" said she.

She is so curious about EVERYTHING. A lot of questions are like, "why does the dog eat that way?" Generally I will say something to the tune of, "I don't know, I never asked."

The other day we went for a walk with my mom, and Halie told her, "I will hold your hand because you are old." My mom and I both started cracking up. I remember thinking that people my age were old, when I was Halie's age.

I love how my girls think that I am a "Good Cooker" too. The other night we had Chinese food that I most definitely did not prepare, and the girls both told me how I was a Good Cooker. I just smiled, and told them "Thank You."

I'm Back!

I got inspired by a Facebook friend, who blogs the cute and silly things her kids say, and posts them on her blog. What a great way to keep a memory, that otherwise might fade with time?!

Recently, we were driving to school (Halie is in kindergarten now) and there was frost all over everything. Upon arriving at school, Halie exclaims, "Mom! There's frosting all over everything!"

On another trip through town, she says, "Mommy! Look! That guy has Hot Dog hair!" I said, "Honey, that's called an afro." :-)

Katelynn on the other hand, is constantly telling me, "I can't believe it!" or "It's my special day!" She thinks everyday is a special day...and well, it is. Can't we as adults take the days we are given for granted, more often than not? I think so.

Our kids are so pure, and honest. I try to remind myself of that constantly. They say what they mean, even if it makes no sense to us, or to them.

Sometimes Halie tells me how she just wants to be a "teenager already!" How the heck does she even know what a teenager is? Ahh, school.

Looks like I have to go make lunch. I love my babies. Man, do they grow up fast.

The Popular Post :)

I noticed a few people who have blogs that I follow, have a 'Bubble Blowing' picture...add me to the list. It must have been a common thought over the weekend because I know I was thinking that my bubble blowing pictures of Halie would be cute on my blog!

Halie LOVES blowing bubbles. Daddy brought some home for her one day, and it's a funny and heartwarming sight, to see a big, tall man, blowing bubbles with his own wand, with his little girl. Of course I get barked at when I try to take pictures of him partaking in the event. He wouldn't want anyone to know that he has a heart for crying out loud!

The Play House!

Halie has been asking for something to play with outside for awhile now. Since we can't find a swing set that is up to my husband's (quality) standards, we opted to build a sturdy playhouse that will be fun for both of our girls.

Ryan and his dad started it a couple weeks ago, and it's really coming along nicely. It's all framed in. We're going to build some wooden, shudder like windows and a two-part door. We haven't decided yet on regular tar roofing or metal. My husband likes to build things that last 'forever' so he is really putting some thought into this...not like the girls care. It will be here for grand-kids some day I suppose.

We've moved Halie's kitchen, bikes and balls out there and we plan on spending a lot of time playing 'house' this summer. There's a nice, covered porch that I can sit on with a book while the girls make me 'lunch' and bring me 'lemonade'. Next year, Ryan's going to weld some poles together for a nice swing set. Things are coming along nicely.
