Old Hallow's Eve

It was Halie's first year trick-or-treating and my first year trick-or-treating for someone other than myself. Actually, I haven't been a part of that kind of thing since about 8th grade. I was thinking I might try and dress up with my girl this year but didn't have the energy or brains to come up with anything but a "fat cow" outfit...because that is what I feel like being 8 months pregnant.

The past three Halloween's, my mom has sent along Halie's costumes. The first year she was a pink kitty, then a monkey, and this year, a little ladybug. Very cute. The only problem was she wasn't being very camera cooperative with me so I only got about two pictures of her in her costume. After trick-or-treating all of downtown Harlowton (about 6-7 businesses in total that were open) we drove up to the nursing home and collected candy from a few residents who were more than pleased to see a cute little two year old in a red and black ladybug outfit. Halie was a little frightened by a few of the folks as she couldn't understand why they had oxygen tubes going up their noses...so we left. THEN (there should've never been a next stop as we had had enough stimulation for the day) we drove to one of the church's in town where everyone and their brother was eating hot dogs, playing silly games to win candy and shooting the...you know. First of all, Halie doesn't understand the meaning of wait in line and second I was overheating and getting claustrophobic. We weren't there for even an hour when Halie started having severe mental breakdown attacks and I had to drag her to the car (literally) where she proceeded to beg and scream for candy after she embarrassed me in front of everyone. We should've stopped with the nursing home. I know for future reference now not to over-stimulate a two year old!

We slept really good that night...the end.
